The client’s mission was to reshape their Data function to unlock the next level of scale. They were growing rapidly, already profitable and attractive to investors. Z7 added to the talent they already had in-house introducing an interim Data Product Owner, who redesigned the data platform, team and usage. We hit the ground running, having already developed an approach protocol.
The data function was split between teams and the organisation wasn’t leveraging their efforts fast enough.
The target was to avoid doubling work and speed up the outcomes.
Clear communication and expectation management with stakeholders, stronger bond with Product and Engineering, full coverage of data sources were among the desired deliveries.
We defined the Data org and its place in the organisation. Using talent already on board, we restructured the relationships to have a leaner and more transparent team structure.
Zeile7 launched a recruitment process and onboarded a Head of Data to lead this new team within the larger CTO organisation.
The foundations of Data as a Product were placed continuing the efforts done so far, building on existing effort to get to a higher level of data maturity.
The achievements were improved internal communications, clear strategy and roadmap, data platform able to take on scale, transparent data lineage and compliance standards built into the data pipeline. The technologies used were AWS, Kafka, Tableau, dbt, Salesforce.com and Braze.
